About the event
Choking, Falls & Bleeding
This session would provide learners with the knowledge and confidence to recognise and respond to three common medical emergencies: choking, falls, and bleeding. Topics are likely to include how to identify the signs and symptoms of choking in adults, the appropriate actions to take, and when to call for emergency assistance. The session would also cover assessing a person following a fall, recognising potential injuries such as fractures or head injuries, and understanding when movement should be avoided. Participants would learn how to manage different types of bleeding, including applying direct pressure, dressing wounds, and responding to severe or life-threatening blood loss. Emphasis would be placed on keeping the casualty safe, preserving dignity, and seeking further medical help when necessary.
