If you’re a carer looking for fresh ideas, practical support and a genuinely uplifting experience, this event, over two sessions is well worth attending. It offers insight, encouragement and the chance to connect with other carers in a way that feels positive, memorable and full of heart.

Listening With Your eyes – workshop for carers only (30th June 2026)

Mischief – a beautiful participatory performance for you and your loved one with dementia. You are welcome to stay afterwards and have a chat with Carers & Communities and Vamos Theatre. (13th July 2026)

Listening with your eyes offers practical insight as well as encouragement. It focuses on how to listen differently, understand more deeply, and build confidence in the moments that matter most.

This session gives you the chance to practice empathy, deep listening, insight and trust — all essential tools for stronger, more reassuring connections.

You’ll also discover positive ways to communicate without words, using approaches that feel honest, clear, physical and caring.

For many carers, that can mean greater confidence, more understanding, and a calmer atmosphere at home or wherever your loved one is being supported.

Mischief invites everyone involved, regardless of sensory differences, to play, interact and become immersed in the moment. It’s a chance to step away from routine, share something joyful together, and boost both your wellbeing and that of your loved one.

If you are looking for a warm, uplifting event that helps you feel more confident in your caring role while enjoying meaningful time with your loved one, this is a wonderful opportunity to explore new ways of connecting, communicating and creating calm through a gentle, engaging session designed with carers in mind.

It’s not just about learning — it’s about finding simple, caring ways to make everyday interactions feel more connected and positive.

There’s also a real sense of fun in the experience.

Mischief is an interactive performance, so if you would like to, we welcome you to get dressed up for the occasion! Get your glad rags on and join us for a truly immersive experience.

We are really excited about this as it is the first time these sessions are being opened up to carers and their loved ones with dementia.

Please note: By signing up to this event you are committing to attend both events. - If you would like to attend but only available for one session, do let us know and we will help you with your booking.

Listening With Your Eyes: Vamos Theatre

June 30th 2026

Listening with your Eyes helps develop skills of empathy, insight, listening and trust-building, particularly in the arena of health and care.

Suitable for all experiences, Listening with your Eyes explores practically the many ways in which we make connections, with the emphasis on the non-verbal. It looks at the impact of body language, mood, eye-contact, touch, and gesture, and shows how tone of voice can change the meaning of the words we say. The workshop offers an opportunity for participants to see the powerful effect of non-verbal techniques, and their benefit in helping us make real and honest connections – particularly with those living with dementia.

The workshop is led in a supportive and playful way. Our aim is for everyone to learn through their own discovery; to feel for themselves, to see with their own eyes and so to empathise with others more easily.

Mischief - Vamos Theatre

13th July 2026

Mischief! is a joyous, interactive performance and celebration featuring comic out-and-about characters, interactive sensory play, and positive empathetic learning for care staff and relatives. It has been created for people with sensory issues, learning disabilities and/or autism, and those living with dementia. Mischief! is designed for care homes and other dementia care settings, schools and settings that support SEND and neurological conditions.

This is a new and exciting opportunity for carers of those with dementia and we are all looking forward to meeting you.

Please do share this unique opportunity with your friends, family, colleagues and networks.

Thank you for your support!

And a huge thank you to Healthy Worcestershire for helping us make this happen.
