Volunteer's Week

Volunteer Week

Volunteers’ Week is an annual UK-wide campaign held from the first Monday in June to celebrate and recognise the contributions of volunteers.

Launched in 1984, this initiative has been running for over 40 years, providing organisations and communities a platform to thank current and past volunteers for their invaluable efforts.

The campaign highlights the diversity and unity of volunteer work across the UK. In its 40th year, the campaign underwent a rebrand, introducing a vibrant identity to inspire continued engagement.

Volunteers’ Week fosters connections between national organisations and grassroots groups, celebrating the spirit of volunteering that enriches communities each year.

The 2026 celebration will run from Monday 1st – Sunday 7th June and we are joining the fun and celebrating Volunteers’ Week by recognising, celebrating and thanking our fabulous volunteers.

Talktime

Our wonderful Talktime volunteers play a crucial role in our organisation.

A special mention to Pat, who comes into the office regularly and is a wonderful listening ear. Pat, and all our Talktime volunteers offer a sense of calm and support in what can be challenging circumstances for carers which helps carers feel more supported and less alone.

Carers are matched with a talktime volunteer who phone the carer at home at a time to suit the carer, to chat confidentially about how they are managing their caring role and discuss any concerns they may have.  This is a vital part of the service we offer and we are so grateful for all the time, commitment and exceptional service they offer to unpaid carers across the county.

Shop

Our fabulous shop in Droitwich would not be the wonderful place it is to visit, showcasing the regularly changing beautiful window displays, without the contributions of the volunteers. With 1204 hours given by our shop volunteers in the last financial year, it is an incredible commitment to carers & our communities.

Here are two of our wonderful volunteers Pat and Lauran. Lauran has volunteered for 4 years and Pat for 7. Pat tells us she “enjoys volunteering for the company and social aspects, she lives alone and likes to keep busy. She has made lots of new friends since moving to the area."

Carer Voice

We would like to thank the group of carers in Carer Voice, who give up their time to contribute to meetings, our online membership and help to shape change for other carers. We have developed our Carer Voice opportunities, and we need more carers to get involved to help continue to inform change. A carer’s views can make a real difference. When carers come together, their collective voice is powerful. Help us put carer issues on the agenda and drive action. Get in touch with our carer voice team if you would like to know more.

Trustees

We would like to say a massive thank you to all of our trustees for their dedication and support. David Sullivan, our Chair of Trustees and all of our Board of Trustees show unwavering support and commitment to the organisation’s goals and plans. In times of challenge and change, our Board of Trustees remain steadfast in strategic planning, financial oversight and compliance. Crucial roles and responsibilities and all done in their own time. We cannot thank our wonderful trustees enough. If you would like to get involved as a trustee, get in touch with us and we will out you in touch with our CEO and trustee board.

We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all our volunteers, for your dedication, contributions and efforts. You make such a difference and we are very grateful.

All our volunteers are valuable members of our team and bring a wealth of experience and skills to help our organisation continue with the wide range of services we offer to support carers and wider communities. If you would like to volunteer with us, please see our volunteering pages for available roles.
